Two posts in the blogosphere caught my eye today:
Kathy of the Cake Eater Chronicles recalls her reaction, 16 years ago, to this phenomenal moment. I remember just watching in disbelief.
Donald Sensing, of One Hand Clapping, writes candidly and lucidly about the implications of American soldiers or interrogators abusing the Quran.

I was in graduate school and had a housemate from mainland China at the time. He and about four other mainland Chinese would gather around the T.V. every night to watch the news. When the democracy movement was suppressed, the nightly gatherings stopped. I wonder what has happened to him and his friends since.
